Another Day at Kandatsu

This season I have been going to Kandatsu quite often everytime I go I begin to like it even more. The terrain park is one of the best in the area and it also boasts the steepest slope in the Yuzawa area. The snow conditions at the moment are great the temperature is low and the ocassional dusting of snow is keeping the slopes in good conditions. We are set for snow till Sunday but then we might have a few days of sunshine. The outlook for this weekend looks to be good for everyone coming up this weekend.

Today I taught kids from the British School in Tokyo for the whole day, these guys are up until wednesday and are at Kandatsu for the whole time during the day, there are great group of kids who are all at different levels of ski/boarding but they are all trying there best, the conditions at Kandatsu where great today with the sun shining, tomorrow looks to be more snow until atleast Saturday if not further - we`ll have to wait and see but there is well over 1m in the town so thats great news.

First day out at Kandatsu

Yesterdays conditions at Kandatsu where excellent, the snow that settled the night before had been groomed and there was hardly anyone out, but 2pm I was still finding groomed patches that no one had been over. It was some of the best groomed conditions that I had ever been on without having to wake up early! This weekend sees another batch of town level resorts opening such as Naspa Ski Garden, Yuzawa Nazakato and Ipponsugi. We hope you enjoy the weekend.
